I keep seeing reels about scaling your business… automating your systems… maximizing your profits… but what if I don’t wanna scale my business?

What if I don’t wanna automate my processes? What if I like being able to chat directly with my students about their goals & their challenges?

I know it’s a pain in the butt when I say DM to book, but I also know that if I don’t force myself to engage, I’ll become a crotchety hermit-y recluse!

Are you stuck in your deadlifts? Most people don’t know this, but here’s the key to getting your butt up & over.

Most people think it’s all in the upper body strength. The push & the pull. You might even be thinking about body alignment & head position - and those things are great.

But if you’re stuck feeling like your butt weighs a million pounds, then you need this exercise (or something like it) to strengthen your lower abs at their end range. 

I’m breaking down a buttload of conditioning exercises, regressions, progressions for Deadlifts & Press Ups in a one-time only 90- minute in-person workshop this Sunday 3pm only at @rokhfit. Bookings are now open on Groovio - get in touch and I’ll send you the link!

Cause I’d love to train with @doctorkenpoleninja in Japan, @oonakofficial in Finland, and @callumspoledance in Edinburgh…

But if I choose 2, does that just mean I’ll be spending the rest of my life on a plane? And what if I get there and there’s no one to train with? So then I should choose 3. But then does that mean they’ll all just suddenly end up at my house? And if I can train with anyone, does that mean I can just get my family to do some chair spins and they’ll show up at my house too? But then does that also mean we can never not be in a pole studio?

No wonder you have to be so careful with genie wishes. There are so many side effects to consider. But I’ll definitely need number 4 as well. After all that training.
    Once upon a time, I went to Hong Kong with my good Once upon a time, I went to Hong Kong with my good friend @amyhazel.poledance who had a habit of getting me to pull my foot overhead in all sorts of exciting ways, in all sorts of exciting places.

This @erinakajeddajjordan trick was a fairytale for me even in a sneaker, and I soon found out that it’s called Super Pain not because it’s super painful or anything like that, but because it comes from Superman, obviously.

We all have them & what to do about it…

No matter how beautiful, smart, funny, talented, confident, etc you are - we all have ugly days. Whether it’s feeling ugly on the outside or on the inside. Yesterday was mine. 

My face was itchy red dry splotchy, I’m dehydrated, my hair is limp flat falling out and needs a cut, I was insatiably snacky, my back is sore, I was too tired to shower, and I fell asleep on the couch 🫠

Reading that back now, it’s laughable how faux-tragedeigh it all is 🤔

So what did I do about it?

I went to work. And not to sound heroic about it, I just literally went to work cause I had to teach Pole Styles - which is a class I made up, where we learn a movement sequence and then dance it out to a few different styles of music. 

But I had one of my favourite songs saved for a rainy day in my Pole Styles playlist (slide 2) and it led me to my new favourite version of this song (slide 4 - which I left in its entirety along with me thrash freestyling around, not because I think my dancing is so amazing that you have to see, but because the song is so amazing that you have to hear)

So here’s a list of things I did that made me feel less ugly yesterday:
• playing back a favourite song
• finding a new favourite song
• wearing comfy track pants
• wearing a strappy top that would remind me I have big muscles when I watched back the videos
• movement exploration so slow that I could mindfully perceive & appreciate every body part
• casual chats with the poler peeps
• drink some water
• drink some more water

And here’s a list of things I’m gonna do today to make me feel less ugly (the Lugly List, if you will):
• drink some more water
• coin a new term for making less ugly seem cute, like Lugly
• drink some more water
• eat breakfast 
• teach some of my favourite tricks in Flexy Strong with my online poler peeps
• take a shower šŸ˜…
• do a face mask
• find somewhere new to get a haircut… any GC recs?

Most people don’t remember anymore, even though it was only a decade or two ago… So I’m here as the old lady to tell you stories of historical times šŸ‘µšŸ»

It’s been 84 years… Titanic was called the Trick of Dreams… actually though, we called it that trick where you’re flying by your butt cheeks and it was created by @phoenixkazree ✨

This version though, I coined ā€œNot-Titanicā€ because years ago when I tried to learn Titanic as we all know it, my butt just couldn’t grip well enough… but I could do this instead. 

So sometimes our favourite tricks are actually just happy accidents… like the time that old lady dropped it into the ocean in end šŸ’šŸ»
