I started pole dancing about a year ago. About 6 months in, I thought it’d be fun to do a pole dancing sketch with my comedy troupe, Asiansploitation. I was eager to perform what I had learned and also assure my family that I had not become a stripper.
My favorite pole dancer in Toronto, Gary Horne, hooked me up with a pole and some choreography to the tune of Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Here’s the first run-through of our first draft – you can hear Gary calling out instructions… and the squeaking of my legs on the sticky pole!
And here’s the version that made it into a sketch in my comedy troupe’s show, Asiansploitation Goes Deep, last summer. Apologies for the dim lighting – it was a stripper sketch after all.
